When I was doing my homework or just reading a book, one of the records I played over and over again was the "New World Symphony" by Dvorak. (Josef Suks conducting the xxxxx orchestra.)
I discovered more and more music - from friends and from listening to the radio and trying interesting-looking LPs in shops.
At some point I returned to my copy of the "New World", played about half and ... er... bo-o-ring!
There was also the time when I felt deserted by music in general. I was so disappointed that, in the 60s and 70s we believed that music would Change the World and Change It For the Better. “Now look where we are! And music is so frivolous, empty and banal.”
How did I re-engage?
